Huge blog giveaway

Hi everyone. Blix (http://themoonmaiden-blix.blogspot.com) is having another awesome giveaway on her blog. Part of the competition rules are that I post about it on my blog. This time, it's two eyeshadow collections from Morgana Cryptoria, a pair of Victorian zombie earrings and matching necklace, which she made with her own two hands! Wish me luck and good luck to any of you who also decide to enter.

Eyeshadow: Fyrinnae & Barry M

I wanted something sparkly yet dark for a night out last week. I ended up using Fyrinnae's arcane magic eyeshadow in Faerie Glamour and teamed it up with Barry M's dazzle dust in Petrol Black. I actually bought the Barry M eyeshadow (a few of them, actually) from Crush Cosmetics (http://crushcosmetics.com.au/). I love this web site: it's got a whole range of makeup that's hard to find in Australia and the prices are really reasonable.

Anyway, Faerie Glamour ended up being way darker than I remembered, but I totally love how it looked. Most of my photos captured the blue shift really well, but not much of the purple. It actually looks mainly purple in the pot, too. As for Petrol Black, the photos of the eyeshadow pot itself look kind of weird. It's a matte black colour that has loads of blue glitter in it, so when you put it on, it really is reminiscent of petrol.

Left: no flash. Right: with flash.

So, here's the look. I put Faerie Glamour all over my eyelid, with some Petrol Black on the outer V and crease. I also lined underneath my eyes with Petrol Black. The first lot of photos shows the blue sparkle. The second lot of photos show the purple shift a little more, with a lot of sparkle. The look was more glittery in person, though.

Eyeshadow: now that's red

I was going out with some friends last night and just to be silly, I asked my boyfriend to pick my eyeshadow colour. He chose red, so I kind of went nuts. It was super bright and doesn't get much redder than this!

I forgot how super red this eyeshadow is! I used a matte pressed eyeshadow from Napoleon (there's no number or shade on it - it's just super red). I'm not a huge fan of matte eyeshadow, so I popped some Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy all over the red and then put Lime Crime's eye dust in Siren over the top. It gave an awesome metallic-looking effect.

This look is totally over the top, so it's not something I'd wear all the time. What do you guys think?

And I'm back

Hey everyone. I haven't been online for a couple of weeks because I was on holidays. Had a great time in Melbourne and got to check out the 12 Apostles for the first time. Beautiful!

So with the Australian dollar doing so well against the US dollar, I think it might be time for some hauling action. First on my list is Fyrinnae. I've had a taste, but now I want more. I'm going to Hawaii at Christmas so I probably shouldn't, but I'm not going to go nuts. Well, I'll try...

I haven't really bought much online for a while, so are there any companies you guys think I should check out? I'm open to suggestions. I'm thinking about Hi-Fi Cosmetics on Etsy, as I've read good things about them. I don't really have anything else planned at this stage.
