Eyeshadow: Fyrinnae Steampunk

Yesterday I wore Fyrinnae's Steampunk Arcane Magic eyeshadow. I love this colour! It appears a brownish colour at first (although in my photos, it looks more burgundy) and then flashes to green and gold. It's a lovely complex colour.

I applied Steampunk all over the lid over Pixie Epoxy, as well as along the lower lashline. I added Fyrinnae's Book of the Dead in the inner V and along the edges of Steampunk on the lower lashline. I used Inglot 414 Pearl lightly in the crease and then 385 Pearl on the browbone.

Eyeshadow: Magentric Prophecy

This is a look from last week. It kind of slipped through the cracks! I used Sugarpill Magentric and Fyrinnae Raven's Prophecy Arcane Magic eyeshadow. It was really simple: Magentric on the lid over Pixie Epoxy, and then Raven's Prophecy dry in the crease and over Pixie Epoxy on the lower lashline. I quite like how it turned out. It's a day of pink posts today!

Eyeshadow: red and silvery sparkle

Today I used some of the new eyeshadows I got from the Boxing Day sales, as well as a new Fyrinnae colour. I love how this turned out and I think I'll wear it again soon, maybe substituting the pinks with greens or purples. I don't often do a pale lid colour with a really bright crease, but I like how it looks. On an unrelated note, this is post number 200, apparently! So much ranting! Thanks for reading, guys.

I used Silver Suede from Gorgeous Cosmetics on the lid over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, Fyrinnae's Arcane Magic in Wake Not The Dead along the lower lashline over Pixie Epoxy and a small dab of Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Static on the inner corner. For the crease, I used Sugarpill's Love+, blended out with Dollipop. Tako was used to highlight.

Nails: Sasatinnie Q10

I can't believe this is the first time I've worn this nail polish! The Sasatinnie brand is Hong Kong chain SaSa's own brand. It's the shade Q10, which is a sheer deep burgundy with silver and purple glitter with red/green duochrome flakies in it. Yes, it really is as awesome as it sounds. I added two coats over the top of Essie Masquerade Belle.

This bottle pic doesn't do the polish justice.

Eyeshadow: Darling Magpie

Another new eyeshadow today: I'm christening Darling from Sugarpill. Also, as promised, I've used Magpie more heavily to show off its awesomeness. I wore this look on Boxing Day when I went shopping and I received some really lovely compliments. I was very flattered. If you can believe it, this looked even brighter in real life. Even I didn't realise how bright it was until I was washing my hands at the basin in the ladies' room. It kind of freaked me out a little.

Review: Designer Brands Sugar palette

I picked up this palette at my local chemist for $5 about a week ago. I liked the look of the colours, so I thought $5 was a cheap investment. I recently took it with me when my boyfriend and I went to spend a couple of days with his parents at Christmas. This is called the Sugar palette and there was also a Spice palette, with more earthy, neutral colours in it.

 12 eyeshadows for only $5!

Haul: one last item from Boxing Day

I can't believe I forgot to add this to my haul from the Boxing Day sale. This is Benefit's I'm Glam Therefore I Am set of goodies. The RRP for this was $69, but Myer was selling it for only $34 on Boxing Day. Score!

The box features Benefit's typically cute illustrations.

Nails: Essie Masquerade Belle

I was eager to remove my nail polish (I've been wearing China Glaze Glittering Garland for over a week!), so I did this in a hurry last night when I got back (completely exhausted) from the Boxing Day sales in Sydney. I was so tired that I didn't realise my mani was a little patchy and could have done with three rather than two coats. Oh well, it looks nice from a distance at least! I used Masquerade Belle from the Essie mini collection I got at Myer yesterday.

Essie Masquerade Belle.

Haul: Boxing Day sales

My sister and I (stupidly, some might argue) decided to brave the absurd crowds in Sydney yesterday and visit Pitt St Mall for the Boxing Day sales. It was an early start (we got there at 7:30am) and we didn't get home until 5:30pm. It was a long day. However, I came away happy with my acquisitions and I'm glad I went (now that it's all over, of course). I'm not looking forward to my next couple of pays, as I'll be repaying my credit card, which got a nice workout. Most of our time was spent in Myer, although we visited David Jones and got a couple of things there, too. It was also less crowded than Myer, apart from the nightmare that was the handbag section *shudders*. Anyway, let's get the show on the road.

First up are the lip products. I could have gone ballistic, but I restrained myself a little, which is a good thing, since I ended up spending a lot more than I planned to. I got a collection of six Estee Lauder mini lip glosses. They're beautiful! Three are sparkles and three are shimmers, apparently. There's not a single dud colour here and I absolutely adore the formula of Estee Lauder glosses, so I happily parted with $65 for this set. I also splurged on a Lipstick Queen lippie. I got a Butterfly Ball Shimmer Treatment Lipstick in the colour Trance. It's a semi-sheer pink with a blueish shimmer. It's stunning.

Top to bottom: the six Estee Lauder mini glosses, plus the Lipstick Queen lippie.

Eyeshadow: Sugarpill Junebug

Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh yeah, more Sugarpill! This look features Junebug, which I got during Sugarpill's recent Pink Weekend sale. I'm a sucker for green and Junebug is just stunning. I also thought it was the perfect choice for Christmas! This look is a bit dark because I was eager to try out some of my new Fyrinnae eyeshadows and most of the colours I got were dark.

Eyeshadow: Aromaleigh Holly-Days look

So I was hoping to have this up yesterday, but the (sort of) in-laws' internet is almost as slow as dialup. Ugh. It's behaving for some reason, so I thought I'd quickly get this up and happening. This look is from a few days ago using my new Aromaleigh Holly-Days collection.

Eyeshadow: Bride of Frankenstein

So this is the first look using some of my brand-new goodies. This look didn't turn out at all how I envisaged, but it's not offensive in any way or anything. I used Fyrinnae's Bride of Frankenstein Arcane Magic eyeshadow all over the lid over Pixie Epoxy, with Femme Fatale Cosmetics' Wrath Baby on the lower lashline. I used Sugarpill Magpie (very) lightly in the crease and then a dab of FFC Handful of Snowflakes on the inner corner.

Eyeshadow: two more Sugarpill looks

So before I continue with my new goodies, here are two more Sugarpill looks that I didn't get around to posting last week. For the first look, I used Tako all over the lid and on the browbone, with Dollipop in the crease. I applied Weekender along the lower lashline and then finished it off with Lumi all over the lid over Picie Epoxy, on the inner corner and along the lower lashline over Weekender. I used a blue Mirenesse eyeliner (I was hoping it would be darker than it is, but it's still a nice colour) along the top and my usual Benefit silver liner on the waterline.

Nails: China Glaze Glittering Garland

As promised, here's my current Christmas mani: China Glaze's Glittering Garland. I adore green nail polish and this one is awesome. It's a forest green with green glitter. It just screams Christmas.

Eyeshadow: more FFC Winter's Veil

This was a very simple look: only two colours, both of them from the limited edition Winter's Veil collection by Femme Fatale Cosmetics (http://femmefatalecosmetics.com.au). This is simply Reindeer Dust all over the lid, inner corner and along the lower lashline, with Merrymaker in the crease and along the outer third of the lower lashline. It's a soft look, but was actually a little darker in real life.

Coming up: lots of new eyeshadows!

This is just a quickie to let you guys know what's in store (hopefully before Christmas). I've got more Aromaleigh and Femme Fatale Cosmetics looks coming up, plus some new goodies! The postman delivered my four new loose eyeshadows from Sugarpill, as well as a substantial order from Fyrinnae. This is definitely going to keep me busy. Plus I'm going to play catchup with some new lip products. So much is coming! Now that I've written it all down, perhaps it's a bit ambitious that I aim for Christmas. Let's just say this is all coming before the end of the year.

Eyeshadow: Femme Fatale Cosmetics Winter's Veil

As promised, I've put aside my new Sugarpill colours temporarily to give some loving to my other new eyeshadows from Aromaleigh (www.aromaleigh.com) and Femme Fatale Cosmetics (www.femmefatalecosmetics.com.au). Today's look is using two colours from the limited edition Winter's Veil collection from FFC.

Eyeshadow: Aromaleigh Starry Night look

I recently bought sample sets of the Aromaleigh (http://www.aromaleigh.com/) Starry Night and Holly-Days collections. The Starry Night collection is the first one I've tried. I wanted a darker look because I'm going to an Opeth concert tonight, so I thought I'd go for a reddish look.

Nails: randoms from the last month

I've been bad with my nail polish posts lately, so to make up for it, I'm doing this one mega post to combine them all. I've been wearing a bunch of polishes that are colours I wouldn't normally wear, just to get out of my comfort zone. It's paid off because I've found some real gems.

 White and shimmery pearl.

Worn together.

Eyeshadow: Sugarpill Midori

I'm back! Apologies for the unexpected week-long hiatus, guys. It's been a long, painful week as we finished up work for the year. But it's all done now and I'm back. This is another Sugarpill look (can't get enough of this stuff!), but I promise there are non-Sugarpill looks coming! This one features Midori.

I applied Midori all over the lid and Afterparty in the crease and along the lower lashline. I added a touch of Poison Plum in the outer V and Lumi on the inner corner. I finished it off with Tako as the highlight.

Eyeshadow: Sugarpill Sweetheart palette

Today I was in a hurry and had only 10 minutes to do my makeup, so I stuck to Sugarpill's Sweetheart palette. I've worn Dollipop heaps, but not on the lid as my main colour, so that's what I went for today. I then added Midori to the crease and Afterparty along the lower lashline. Tako was used to highlight my brow and I added a dab of sparkle to the inner corner in the form of Lumi loose eyeshadow. And voila!

Bright look using just one palette.

Rant: up yours, Google

Today I found out from Socialite Dreams (www.socialitedreams.com) that Google is getting rid of Google Friend Connect. This pisses me off no end. I have no intention of creating a Google+ account, which is apparently what they're trying to push. What this means is that anyone without a Blogger account/blog will lose all their followers and won't be able to follow their favourite blogs in the same way. You can still follow using an RSS reader, though.

Another option is to follow using Bloglovin'. I've added a Bloglovin' widget on the left, so if you'd like to follow me that way, just click on that widget and away you go. I'm going to do the same with the blogs I follow. It's going to take a while, but I think that's the best way. While mine is obviously a Blogger site, I know lots of other sites don't use Blogger, so I'm going to take a stand and remove the GFC widget from my site at the end of the month.

I'd hate to lose all my lovely followers (there's 98 of you now!), but I totally understand how much work this means for us all, adding all the blogs you follow into another system. I'm prepared to do that, but I totally understand that not everyone else may be. So I hope you'll all come and join me in giving Google+ a big 'up yours'.

Eyeshadow: Poisoned Gold (yes, more Sugarpill)

OK everyone, put your sunnies on because this look from yesterday is bright and blingy as hell! Actually, it's less so in the pictures than it was in real life, but it's still pretty full on. I wanted to amp up Sugarpill's Goldilux, since I did a work safe look with it most recently, and I thought Poison Plum was a perfect match for it. I also wore false eyelashes with this one! And I applied them properly! (This is only the third time I've ever worn them, so this is a big achievement for me.) I also wanted something fun because I was going to see the Misfits! Yes, I'm a complete zombie now (how appropriate) because mid-week concerts suck, but it was an excellent show.

For this look I used Goldilux all over the lid over Pixie Epoxy and then dry on the inner corner. I used Poison Plum in the crease and along the lower lashline, then blended out the top of the crease with Dollipop. Tako was used to highlight.

No idea why I look so surprised in these photos. Might have caught a reflection of myself in the mirror!

Eyeshadow: Sugarpill fire

After my previous look using Sugarpill's Buttercupcake didn't really do it for me, I was determined to try it again, on the lid this time. I'm super happy with the way this turned out, especially since I did it quite quickly. Buttercupcake, Flame Point and Love+ were made to be worn together (duh, that's why they're in a paletter together), but this look was simply a no-brainer.

I used Buttercupcake on the inner half of the lid and lower lashline, with Flame Point on the outer half. I used Love+ in the crease and then finished it off with Tako to highlight the inner corner and browbone.

I'm on fire!

And because I just couldn't leave it alone, I decided I wanted a touch of bling to the look, so I added a little bit of holographic gold liner just at the edge (Make Up Store's Treasure, which I think might be discontinued now). It didn't need the glitter, but I love sparkle so any excuse!

A hint of bling.

Which one do you guys prefer? I like them both, although glitter makes everything better, in my opinion!
