I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus or whatever you celebrate! Spend time with loved ones and have a safe and wonderful holiday. Things will be quiet here for a while as I'm off to Japan on January 3, but I hope to keep you all posted while I'm over there.
Hey guys. I've got some recent manicures to show you today. They're all over the place in terms of colours and formulas! I'll start with what's on my nails right now. First is a totally in-your-face mani with an almost neon green (two coats) with a layer of dark green shimmery crackle polish on top. Finished off with topcoat, of course.
Bright green with dark green crackle. No, I'm still not over the whole crackle thing.
This look is from about a month ago, so I couldn't tell you for sure what I used in the crease and on the browbone. However, I do remember the most important bits. so yay! I know used new eyeshadows that I got at IMATS. I wanted to wear blue, but I didn't want it to bright or dark, so I opted for an icy steel-blue combo that I created by accident.
I used my Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel in #93 (no, I still haven't worn it as intended - I just love it as an eyeshadow!) all over the lid and along the lower lashline. On top of that, I used one of Naked Cosmetics eyeshadows from the Twilight stack: #TW-05. As I said, no idea what else I used. Sorry!
Today I have a new eyeshadow to show you guys. It's one of the Dior moussey kind of formulas in a glass pot, just like the Chanel ones. To touch with your finger, the formula feels exactly the same. The difference is the Dior ones come with a sponge-tipped applicator, while the Chanel ones come with a small synthetic brush. I found the Dior applicator pretty much useless, to be honest. It was only really good for applying the shadow along the lower lashline. Over the eyelid, use your own brush or even your fingers would work better.
So here it is. A real post! I wanted to keep my birthday fairly simple, so my partner took me to dinner. He took me to my favourite pasta restaurant and it was great. I was feeling sort of lazy so I did a really easy neutral look. I used one of my favourite Make Up Store microshadows and kept the liner quite soft for a change.
Hi everyone. It's been another unexpected absence for me and I apologise. I've been really busy with real life-related stuff; some of it good, some of it bad. I've still been taking photos and stuff, but I haven't had the time to post anything or have a stickybeak at what you've all been up to. Forgive me! I will be back.
It was also my birthday last week, so yet another year older. Sigh. At least I still feel like a teenager. Haha. Anyway, I promise I'll have pretties for you soon.
Hi guys. I have a nice, bright look for today. I subscribe to the Lust Have It! box every month and in the most recent (October) box, a full-size Inika mineral eyeshadow was included, worth $25. I've never tried Inika products before, although I had one friend who swore by their mineral foundation. All of their makeup is vegan, if that's important to you. You can get Inika online (http://inika.com.au) as well as in some Australian stores. I'm not sure about international availability.
Greetings everyone! Today I had an order from Nutrimetics arrive, containing a lip crayon in a lovely coral colour. This isn't a colour I wear all that often. Anything even close to orange scares me, but I took the plunge with this one and it's awesome. Phew! I don't usually go all matchy matchy with my eyeshadow, although that's exactly what I had the urge to do today. I used Koi from Darling Girl Cosmetics, which is a coral shimmer with blue sparkles in it.
Hey guys. Today I have some more looks using my IMATS goodies. Actually, they're mostly of the Naked Cosmetics loose eyeshadows I got. Fabulous colours! They're really great-quality shadows. I've worn them a number of ways here and with different things underneath as a base. Let's get on with it.
First up I used two Naked eyeshadows. I applied TW-04 (Twilight collection) all over the lid and lower lashline on top of Pixie Epoxy, with a little of IV-05 (Ivory collection) on the inner corner, also on top of Pixie Epoxy, which it didn't really need, it turns out. I love the aqua colour!
As promised, today I have some looks using my new goodies from IMATS (see my previous post here). I was a little lazy so I didn't do separate posts like I usually do. Sorry! No messing around, here we go.
First up is a look using my Sugarpill Cold Chemistry palette with my new Inglot liquid liner in #29.
Finally! Here it is: my rather small haul from IMATS, along with swatches. I showed remarkable self-control this year, I must admit. Still, lots of pretty sparkliness in there.
My haul consisted of two Naked Cosmetics eyeshadow stacks (Ivory and Twilight), Embryolisse Hydra-Masque, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under-Eye concealer, Inglot Lip Duo in #26, Make Up Store microshadow in Forrest, Make Up Store glitter eyeshadow in Amazone, Make Up Store eyeliner in Darkest Shadow (Matt), Inglot Liquid Eyeliner in #29, Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel in #93, and Girlee Cosmetics Dazzle Dust in Tiger's Eye and Sapphire.
I'm back with a massive post for you guys. A couple of weekends ago, IMATS hit Sydney. It was held in Darling Harbour on September 21 and 22, although I only attended on Saturday, the 22nd. My day was crazy! I thought it would be a good idea to combine two events for the one day, which made things hectic. In addition to IMATS, my sister and I had facials booked at the fancy SpaQ, so we decided to spend the night at a hotel in the city.
My day began at 6am. Ugh! I got ready and was on the 6:52 train to the city. I went straight to the hotel and dumped my bag before heading to the convention centre. I got there at about 8:15 and the lines were really long! I believe this is only the third IMATS to be held in Sydney. I went the first year and was overseas last year, so believe me when I say this thing has grown since the last time I came! The first year I arrived at about the same time and I was actually inside the foyer of the convention centre. As you can see, I had no such luck this year.
The people lined up in front of me. This goes from the entrance to the event hall, through the foyer and then outside.
I'm back after a short, unexpected break. I spent a few days in country NSW relaxing at the boyfriend's parents' house to get away from things. I just needed to get away from it all for a bit. I won't go into details, but I'm not having the best time right now, although I'm hoping things get sorted out soon.
My next post will be of IMATS Sydney, so keep an eye out for that. Missed you all!
Today I have another look from the Sugarpill Cold Chemistry palette. This isn't one of my usual looks, as it's dark underneath the eye and light on top. It's always fun to change things up so I really enjoyed creating this one. Once again I used all four colours.
I know, another post so soon! As promised, here's another look using the Sugarpill Cold Chemistry palette, this time using all four of the colours. This look is quite dark but I love it. I'm looking forward to maybe doing a less intense look next, maybe using Diamond Eyes as the main colour. We'll see. I also used some mattes from the Too Faced Naked Eye palette to even out all the shimmer.
It's finally here! I'm so excited to finally have my hands on the latest Sugarpill (www.sugarpillshop.com) palette. I've been drooling over this thing since I first saw swatches of it over a year ago. And I have to say, this baby is worth the wait.
So because I've been busy, I haven't had a chance to show off some lovely nail polishes that I've been wearing lately. I also went a little nuts buying new ones, so I haven't even had a chance to wear them all yet. So here are four recent manis: three piCture pOlish colours and a Dollish Polish holo.
Today I'm showing you guys one of the new Clinique Chubby Sticks for eyes. I got one colour (from Myer), but I think may get at least one more. They sell for $35 in the shops in Australia, although my sister just bought one on Strawberrynet for only $24. I've worn it a couple of times already and it's great. It's easy to apply and once it sets, I get no creasing. It also makes for a very quick eye makeup application. I've teamed it with a bit of Sugarpill goodness here to give it a little bit more shimmer.

Hey guys. Sorry about the time between posts. Life's been a little bit blah and crap needed doing, but I have returned! After my last trip, I was a little annoyed with myself for not picking up a few extra Urban Decay items while I was in Singapore. Why was I trying to be good? Pointless! Anyway, I did an order from Look Fantastic (www.lookfantastic.com) and picked up a couple of extras, including the eyeshadow I'm featuring in today's look. It's an all-Urban Decay affair.
I have a quick and easy look for you guys today. I got a new Avon eyeliner and was eager to try it out. I really like it! I'll definitely be using it a lot when I'm not in the mood for my usual liquid liner. I kept the eyeshadow fairly neutral so it wouldn't detract from the liner.

Hey guys. I forgot how much I loved wearing red eyeshadow that I decided to do it again today! I teamed it with a silvery colour this time, which also has heaps of pretty multi-coloured sparkles in it. This is quite similar to a look I did ages ago here, but a little more subtle.
Hi guys. I have a very simple look today. I really wanted to try out my new Biker Chic eyeshadow from Fyrinnae, but I wasn't in the mood for a really dark, intense look. In the end, I decided to wear it as a liner with some neutral eyeshadows, which worked out really well. So here are the goodies I used.
I have a fun, bright look for you guys today. As many of you will know, a few weeks ago Sugarpill (www.sugarpillshop.com) had a sale on their web site, offering discounts on certain items as well as the opportunity to purchase some limited edition expo-only items. Like the Sugarpill obssessive that I am, I got up at 4am Australia time to attempt to get these lovely eyeshadows. I honestly never thought I'd get my hands on these goodies, but here they are!
I have a dark look for you guys today. It's using two of my new green Fyrinnae eyeshadows. It's another darker look and you all know how much I love my greens! So because I haven't taken photos of the eyeshadows in their jars, here they are swatched on my hand.

Another look for you guys today. This time I'm giving my Sparkle 2 palette from Sleek a go. This is a gorgeous palette and one I've neglected for a while. So here's a little sparkle loving. This time I went for the coppery colours and the navy; since I use the green and burgundy the most, I wanted to try different colours for a change. I like the end result.
I've been a little slack with the nail polish posts of late, so here's a combined one with the last three manis I wore. The Sephora nail polish is one I picked up in Singapore, while the piCture pOlish and A England pretties are recent deliveries. The piCture pOlish nail colour was actually a freebie: they had a daily deal where I could get one free if I bought three polishes, which I did. Can't wait to try those out either. I'm particularly excited about the A England polish, since we've finally got an Australian distributor for them in the form of Femme Fatale Cosmetics. Woohoo!
First up is the Sephora nail polish (sadly, I think this has now been discontinued, but correct me if I'm wrong). It's a duochrome polish that looks steel blue with blue and gold microshimmer straight on, but on an angle reveals its greyish purple side with magenta shimmer. This was pretty easy to apply, considering the mini size of the bottle, and that was due to the nice, wide brush. Two coats was all I needed for even coverage.
Today I have a swatch post for you. I recently ordered some delightful new sparklies from Fyrinnae (www.fyrinnae.com) and they are marvellous! I'll post a couple of looks below the swatches so you can see for yourselves. All of my swatches are over Pixie Epoxy to show their maximum awesomeness.
Left to right: Agenda, Feisty Fennec Fox and Sloth Snuggles.
Not only do I have colour today, but I have glittery sparkle too! More new goodies from Singapore in this look. I didn't buy all that much, but they've all been getting quite a flogging. It's still not overly bright or out there and yes, I used my damn Too Faced Naked Eye palette again. Can you blame me? This thing is so versatile. I've also got one of my sparkly new Bobbi Brown eyeshadows. So lovely.

Yes, another neutral look. This one is using the Too Faced Naked Eye palette again, which is the reason for the neutral. It's got shimmer, though. I wanted to keep this very simple and I did it quickly, so it's softer than normal because I didn't use an eyeliner (I know, I'm freaked out too!).
I am a big fan of MAC eye shadows and own
few of the pretty shades. Be it their lipstick, eyeliner or foundation I have
tried it all. In India, MAC is not that expensive as compared to Australia so
if you have any plans of visiting India then do check out some duty free shops
of MAC on the airport. They have all the MAC products at much cheaper rates.
Coming to eye makeup, my love with eye
makeup started with smoky eyes. I used to be mesmerized by all the celebrity
eye makeups and when I Googled how
to make smokey eyes, I was instantly hooked to it and since then I have
been practicing eye makeup.
Below are three of my eye makeup looks
which I did using my three MAC Green eyeshadows which are my favourite.
MAC SURF USA EYESHADOW
It’s such a pretty green teal shade which pops up my eyes when used as an eyeliner or an eye shadow. What makes it different is the nice subtle frosty finish which is smooth in texture and high on pigmentation.
Today I have a dark look for you, which is a nice change from the neutral looks I've been doing lately. Again, this was done with some of my new goodies from Singapore, along with some other bits and pieces from my collection. And it's glittery. Woohoo! Here we go.
Revlon PhotoReady Primer, Shadow + Sparkle in #535 Pop Art (mouthful, isn't it?)
Today's look is all about the glittery lid shade, which is one of the new Urban Decay moondust eyeshadows in Glitter Rock. I love these. I'm definitely thinking about getting Moonspoon now. And maybe Intergalactic. Sigh. I have a serious problem. Anyway, this look turned out quite glittery, but on the subtle side. Purely accidental, I assure you. I haven't gotten boring: I still love my brights, but I've been trying out the more subtle new shades I bought recently. Just you wait until you see Zodiac!
Hey guys. I'm finally getting around to posting some looks using the new makeup I bought on my overseas trip. Today's look is a really simple one using just one Make Up Store eyeshadow. I've also finally tried the Anna Sui makeup powder.

One of the reasons I love the beauty blogging world so much is that it gives you the chance to discover new products/companies that you may not have heard of before. Lilypad Lacquer, found on Etsy, is one such company. I saw Kristy from The Polish Haven (thepolishhaven.blogspot.com) blog about their True Blood nail polish and I was in love. I had to have it! I ended up getting one other colour while I was there, called Popping Purple.
More new goodies to share today. I tried out my new Too Faced palette and so far, it's awesome. The palette comes with three cards that show you how to apply the eyeshadows in the palette to create three looks. Basically, each line of eyeshadows creates one look. However, I wanted to go more subtle today so I didn't use all the colours from any one look. I used two of the three 'Classic' look shadows, plus one from the 'Day' look.
