Nails: Essence Miss Universe

I have a quick nail polish post for you all today. It's a new one from Essence, which cost a measly $2.75. Bargain! It's a darkened teal shimmer: not a glitter, but not a regular shimmer either, since the shimmer particles are chunkier. However, it applied smoothly on the nail, unlike glitter.

Essence #147: Miss Universe.

It's a somewhat runny nail polish and the first coat looked odd: a watery black with tons of dark teal shimmer. Coat two looked much better, but still slightly patchy. A third coat made it completely opaque and gave a dense coverage of the shimmer. One coat of topcoat and this is what it looks like:

It's a vampy, darkened teal colour.

I know some people don't like applying three coats of nail polish and I agree it's a pain sometimes, but bear in mind that this is less than $3 and looks awesome. It's one of Essence's fast-drying polishes, although I found it took a little longer to dry than their creme polishes. All in all, I love it!
